    ② Week 9

    Trail  Mix

Feedback from Mentors (Class 17 )

    1. SHOT 03C: The package appears too blurry.

    2. SHOT 04:  Scale feels off; the almond seems too close; Revisit lighting on the CG object; Consider a subtler approach for introducing the logo to reduce visual busyness;
Add more of an upward movement leading to the bigger reveal.

    3. Shot 01A:  Trim the cache’s start by 7 frames to move the puff effect forward for quicker progress.

    Changes made:

    1. Shot 03C: Increase the package’s sharpness to improve clarity.

    2. Shot 04:  Adjust the almond scale to create better depth;  Refine CG object lighting for a balanced look;  Introduce the logo subtly, reducing its visual impact;  Add an upward movement to enhance the reveal.

    3. Shot 01A: Trim the first 7 frames of the cache to advance the puff effect and speed up progress.

Week 9 Task - Timing fix of smoke Fx

    - Trim the first 7 frames of the cache to advance the puff effect and speed up progress

    - Rerender

    - Breakdown

    1. Timing Fix

    Week 8 - Shot01 Fx (keep first 5 frames)
    Week 9 - Shot01 Fx (chop first 5 frames)

WIP of trimming the frames of the cache

I tried removing the first 7 frames as suggested, but that caused the smoke at the start to no longer cover the entire package, which didn’t meet the compositing requirements. So instead, I trimmed only the first 5 frames to reduce the overly strong puff effect.

Start with Frame 5: cover the package
Start with Frame 7: cannot cover the package

    3. Rendering (compare with last week)

    Week 8 - Shot01 Fx (keep first 5 frames)
    Week 9 - Shot01 Fx (chop first 5 frames)

This week, I also refined the smoke material to create smoother, softer edges rather than sharp ones.

    Week 8 - Shot01 Fx (redshift rendering)
    Week 9 - Shot01 Fx (redshift rendering)

Just like in previous weeks, I’ve rendered all the elements separately and uploaded them to Dropbox.
